Jason spent all his working career up to 2001 in broking and finance working for Kleinwort Benson Securities, Dillon Read, Smith Barney and finally AXA Investment Managers. In April 1999, his daughter Isabel fell ill and spent 4 weeks in intensive care after she was misdiagnosed by her local hospital. This event was the inspiration for the Isabel project which Jason co-founded.

Attended medical school at Bombay University where he qualified with a post-graduate degree (MD) in Paediatrics. From 1991 to 1993 Joseph trained in paediatric intensive care at Yorkhill, Glasgow. He joined the Imperial College School of Medicine in 1993 as a clinical research fellow in paediatric intensive care. In October 1996, he was appointed Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Paediatric intensive care at Imperial College School of Medicine at St Mary’s Hospital. He cared for Isabel Maude on intensive care at St. Mary’s in June 1999, and co-founded the Isabel project.

Ram joined the Isabel team in 2000 after establishing a well known paediatric teaching site called ‘Ram’s MRCPCH teaching’. He has led the extensive validation process which Isabel has gone through. Ram has done an MD at Imperial College in the validation of the Isabel system and is in his final year of training in pediatric intensive care at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.

Amanda was the first person to join the Isabel team in 2000 after spending 5 years as a senior staff nurse on the Paediatric Infectious Disease ward at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, including 3 weeks looking after Isabel Maude herself. Amanda has worked on the development of the proprietary database, the tutored taxonomy and validation.
